Rank Advancement Requirements

As a general guideline, 24 class hours and the instructor’s permission are required to participate in a belt promotion test. Each student is an individual. If students or parents have questions concerning these requirements, feel free to discuss them with an instructor outside of class. If students have specific injuries or limitations, exceptions will be made with the Sah Bum Nim’s permission.

Please Note: At the discretion of the examiner you may be required to demonstrate previous rank requirements !

PHILOSOPHY REQUIREMENT

Each student is required to write a two-page paper on a given topic for each rank. The purpose of this paper is to encourage you to organize your thoughts and philosophy and to consider how martial art’s training is affecting your outlook on life. Also, this paper will be forwarded on to the main school in Cleveland so that the Kwan Jang Nim also comes to know your philosophy.
